At the heart of this functional sculpture series lies the motif of the rag doll – a multifaceted symbol deeply rooted in Ukrainian culture. It represents both a traditional talisman and a plaything, embodying elements of both sacred and functional significance. Within the clean geometric shapes of these Suprematic objects, you can discern the subtle silhouettes of figures – echoes of forgotten ancestors, reanimated in our presence.
To craft this series, TASHA ORO employed upcycled vintage ceramics and porcelain tableware, alongside components sourced from household appliances and remnants from the Soviet-era automobile industry. These materials were seamlessly connected using metal channels and cold welding techniques. The Suprematic objects stand at varying heights of up to 550 mm, with individual pieces weighing up to 1 kg.
