Collaborative Design

The archival fabric and wallpaper collection, developed in collaboration with the Ivan Franko Theatre and TheO Wallpapers, brings back early 20th-century abstractions, with each textile reflecting the vision of different artists of that era. Upholstered in these bold geometric patterns, the sculptural Archipen Chair becomes a gallery-worthy piece for cultural spaces, yet at the same time a refined dining chair that integrates seamlessly into a contemporary home interior.

Avant-Garde Art and Textile Design for Modern Chairs

Presented in the Oleksandra Ekster textile, this piece draws on the theatrical avant-garde legacy of one of Ukraine’s most innovative artists. Ekster’s radical costume designs and stage sets — created for the Kyiv State Drama Theatre and later the Théâtre de l’Atelier in Paris — pushed the boundaries of abstraction, turning the stage into a living canvas of geometric dynamism and colour. Her collaborations with Les Kurbas and Alexander Tairov reshaped the visual language of performance art in the 1910s and 1920s.

Historic Patterned Fabric for Designer Chairs – Ekster's Vision

This fabric captures the bold rhythm of Ekster’s constructivist and cubo-futurist aesthetics: fractured silhouettes, diagonal compositions and chromatic contrast that brought movement and energy to both actors and scenery. Each thread reflects her vision of theatre as a total artwork — where costume, light and form merge into a single emotional force.

Featured in European Design Shows and Galleries

Each textile from the collection reflects a connection to the era’s radical spirit – geometric abstraction, theatrical composition, and expressive pattern. Today, the collection is featured in contemporary design galleries and actively exhibited across Europe, highlighting the renewed relevance of artistic heritage in collectible furniture.

Designer of Archival Fabrics

Inspired by archival sketches and artistic visions, Yevhen Lytvynenko created a collection of fabrics and wallpapers that reinterprets the language of the Ukrainian and European avant-garde. Each design reflects the distinct style of its source: the radical geometry of Kazymyr Malevych, the dynamic theatricality of Oleksandra Ekster, the graphic elegance of Heorhiy Narbut, the vibrant colour harmonies of Sonia Delaunay and the architectural sensibility of Vasyl Krychevskyi. Together, these reimagined motifs preserve the spirit of the era when art and theatre were at the forefront of innovation, while translating it into a contemporary design medium.
