Collaboration NOOM x Patience&Gough

NOOM has joined forces with the British design studio Patience&Gough and Ukrainian artist Magister of Magic to create a unique collection at the intersection of design, art and digital technology.

Pictured is the iconic Gropius chair, upholstered in the Penrose Prowl "NAKED" textile, made from recycled plastic bottles, together with NFT art. The result is a series of pieces that feel equally at home in a contemporary interior and in an art space.

The collection’s concept is inspired by the image of the tigress — a symbol of strength, courage and feminine energy.

What is a Bauhaus chair?

The Gropius chair, designed by Kateryna Sokolova and inspired by the ideas of the Bauhaus school. Bauhaus chairs are the embodiment of the ideas of the iconic design movement of the early 20th century. Clean lines, geometric forms and the harmony between shape and function defined a style that still feels modern and recognisable today. These pieces remain relevant for decades, fitting seamlessly into both classic and contemporary interiors.

This is furniture that emphasises functional, minimalist design, the use of industrial materials and a rejection of unnecessary decoration in favour of clean lines and smooth, fluid silhouettes.

Among modern interpretations, the Gropius CS1 has already become one of the famous Bauhaus-style chairs. It carefully reflects the philosophy of the school, combining simplicity, balance and understated elegance, while meeting today’s expectations of comfort and durability.

Does Bauhaus style still exist?

Of course — the style never disappeared, it continued to grow and evolve.

Its principles still define contemporary design, shaping the way we think about space and the objects within it. The influence of Bauhaus is visible not only in furniture and interiors but also in architecture, where clarity, balance and simplicity take centre stage.

Today, designers reinterpret these ideas through modern materials and technologies, keeping the movement alive while giving it a distinctly contemporary voice. That’s why a Bauhaus-inspired chair, like the Gropius CS1, feels timeless yet perfectly at home in the present.
