UPD CELEBRATES ITS 1ST ANNIVERSARY

Friends, greetings!

My name is Oksana Tverdokhlibova. I founded the company Ukrainian Product Design, which was registered officially exactly a year ago in the UK. Today, our team celebrates together with you - our friends, clients, partners, and colleagues. I feel your support and involvement every day, which gives me strength to keep moving forward.

I also feel a great responsibility, so today we are reporting to you what has been accomplished during this year.

  • November 2022 - the idea to create a platform in Britain to promote Ukrainian furniture, lighting, and decor from the best Ukrainian designers.

  • December 2022 - negotiations with brands, collection selection, contract signings. Ruda Studio and Alexandra Rudenko, Noom and Katerina Sokolova, Pavlo Vitrov, Andriy Mohila and Zegen, Valentina Vasilieva and Atelier Lilu, Sleponnn, and Litvinenko Studio joined us.

  • January 2023 - launch of Instagram and Facebook pages.

    February 2023 - official company registration.

    March 2023 - opening of the online store www.ukrainianproduct.design.

  • April 2023 - participation in the trade mission of the Ukrainian Furniture Association at the Ukrainian Embassy in London. Realisation that we need to scale up, participate in the London Design and Interiors Exhibition, and showcase our furniture to a wider audience.

  • May 2023 - search for grant projects, attracting new brands ready for new challenges.

  • June 2023 - Alliance creation, Memorandum signing. Yalanzhi Objects, Panoptikum, The O wallpapers, YourFoRest, Tasha Oro, llab.design, GORN Ceramics, ZV'YAZANI, Diza joined us. Application for a grant from the USAID "Competitive Economy of Ukraine" program.

  • July 2023 - we passed the selection and began preparations for the Decorex exhibition.

  • August - gathering necessary documents for the grant, budgeting, booth design development. Thanks for the talented scenography by Ganna Goiman, I can't imagine what I would have done without her.

  • September 2023 - incredibly intense month. Thanks to all partners for their support and trust. September 22 nd grant approved. All items manufactured, loaded into the lorry for shipment to London, and cleared customs.

  • October 2023 - participation in the Decorex exhibition. Thanks to all our guests for incredible support, inspiring feedback, hugs, and even tears. It was incredible.

  • November 2023 - analyzing regulatory requirements of the British market, preparing for certification.

    December 2023 - my first financial report to USAID. It feels like finishing another university.

January 2024 - printing the first Ukrainian Product Design catalogue. We all meet in Kyiv, planning future actions.

February 2024 - advertising launch, celebrating the anniversary, working on our first HoReCa projects in the UK.

The second year starts with inspiring projects. Thank you for believing in us and supporting us. Thank you to Ukrainian manufacturers and designers for your resilience to challenges, zest for life, and incredible items through which you share your creativity and strength with the world.
